Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and provide a better user experience.
We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage, which function similarly to cookies.
How We Use Cookies
Valiro keeps cookie use to a minimum. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to function properly and cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication token (JWT) | Valiro (first-party) | Keeps you signed in to the application | Session / until logout |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Bot detection and security on static pages | 30 minutes |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Security verification on static pages | 1 year |
We issue our own JWT authentication tokens directly from the Valiro backend. We do not use a third-party identity provider.
Analytics
We use Umami for privacy-friendly website analytics. Umami is self-hosted on our own domain, processes data within the EU, and does not use cookies or any cross-site tracking. No personal data and no device fingerprints are collected, and analytics data is not shared with any third party.
Because Umami does not set cookies, there is no analytics cookie to list here.
Preference Storage
We use the browser’s localStorage to remember UI preferences such as your language choice (DE/EN) and theme. localStorage data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers, so it is not a cookie.
Third-Party Cookies
The only third-party cookies that may be set when visiting our website are placed by Cloudflare, which we use for content delivery and security on our static pages.
- Cloudflare: Security and performance for static web pages. Privacy Policy
We do not use Clerk, PostHog, Google Analytics, or any advertising or social-media tracking services.
Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block all or certain cookies
- Set preferences for certain websites
Browser Settings
Here are links to cookie management instructions for common browsers:
Impact of Disabling Cookies
- Strictly necessary cookies: Disabling these will prevent you from staying signed in to the application.
- Cloudflare cookies: Blocking these may trigger additional security challenges when accessing the site.
localStorage: If blocked, your language and theme choices will not be remembered between visits.
Do Not Track
Our analytics setup (self-hosted Umami) does not track individuals across sites and does not build user profiles, regardless of any “Do Not Track” signal.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
